so this welder is relatively cheap, has anyone bought it or can any one give me feed back on its power. I need it to put up a normal fence, is there any problems with the company or anything, it just seems too cheap for its description. Any feedback is appreciated
Answer:
It says 200 amp but has no duty cycle or other relevant information.
You want a DC machine, they weld alot better than AC for most applications. For welding fence you will probably be running 6010's at 70-90 amps or 7018's at 100-125 amps( depending on electrode diamter, 3/32 or 1/8 rod).
Duty cycle is important if you are doing consistant welding, either way i would not spend $100 and get something that is trash.
Buy a miller or lincoln, i have used both and they are reliable.
Also make sure your welder actually has a selector for amperage, either digital or manual. You do not want a welder that has high-low settings and thats it.
heres a miller welder that is good quality and would handle any arc welding you would probably be doing.

More expensive than $100 maybe, but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to welding. If you have the money to spare, I suggest getting a multi-process machine, like an XMT-304 or a portable welder. They run all processes and which means you get alot more for your money, they also run very well which makes it worth the money.

I am a welder and trust me, the difference in a good miller and some no name $100 piece of junk is amazing. I do not think you would need the last 2 welders, but if you do much metal work or think you might in the future they would be a worthwhile investment. Lincolns are also very good, I just have more experience with miller.
