Ways To Clean A Shower Curtains
Are you trying to clean your best shower curtain? Then continue reading this post. This article will provide some alternative methods that you can use with ease. Take a few minutes to read right to the end and see if none of the recommendations provided here will be useful to you.
Firstly, I am aware that changing curtains can be a rather daunting task and highly expensive at that. What do you do if the curtain has some mildew and soap scum all over it?
Some people choose to soak it in the bath with some water and bleach. Using this method can be quite tricky especially if you are particular about color preservation. I know how I used to be with my dark brown shower curtains.
An option that is less complicated and risky is the washer i.e. simply put it in the washing machine. Plastic or fabric a washing machine can do a really good job when it comes to cleaning the curtains. You need to use a normal detergent for this and set the machine to be a non-rinse cycle. For best results, chuck in a towel or two in there so you can have it rub against the curtain and cleaning it in the process.
soaking it in some soda crystals can also do wonders. You can go for this option if you are looking for something that is eco-friendly. In addition it is superior than bleaching because it does not emit ant nasty smell. Using this method is simple and straight forward, simply add some water in a bath and add the crystals then leave the curtain in there overnight.
I know some people who put their bright red shower curtain in the wash and substitute the normal detergent with the soda crystals. For the conditioning part, simply use some vinegar. Note that I haven’t tried the vinegar myself but with so many testimonials I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for you – except for the smell.
