Can snails carry ich? HURRY AND ANSWER?
My 20 gal tank has ich. Well only my glolite tetras do for now so I'm treating it with MARDEL.. coppersafe - for ick and velvet. And the only directions say is to use 5 ml of it for every 4 gals of water. Treats water for a month. Does that mean that I only have to do one treatment per month? Anyways yesterday I put in 15 mls, but didn't take out the filter. Now I Need to redo it and I just took the filter out and replaced it with a thing that goes with the fter but is like steel wool ish. And I just did a 25 % water change and now I'm goin to do the ful 20 mls like it says. Will this poison my fish? Should I wait and get different stuff? And I read that I should take my snail out but if I put it in a diff tank for a little bit would it be carrying the ich to and spread I to my other tank? Or do snails not catch the disease?

Regarding the snails, they can't be infected with Ich, but they could have the parasite on them, and so carry it to the other tank. Likewise it could be on your net, gravel vac or even your hand. So take care not to cross-contaminate the healthy tank.
I suggest you set up a "hospital" tank for the snails, heck it only needs to be a plastic bin, change the water frequently and they will live. After a few days any stay Ich parasites will, have died, and the snails can be safely moved to a new home.
Regarding the filter. You MUST leave it running, but remove any filter element that contains carbon. This is because carbon absorbs chemicals out of the water, like the medication that you are adding. If you remove or switch off the filter then you fish not only have to deal with the Ich, and the medication, but now low oxygen levels and probably a spike in ammonia as well.
If you do water changes, then only dose for the amount of water you replaced. If it's 25%, then top up with 25% of the dose. This keeps the amount of medication in the water the same
