would 25 lbs test for my 20 lbs rod be ok? or am i pushing the limits?

hey man, alot of rods have the limit on there and the limit is judged on monofilament line. that is because mono is thicker. if you go with a different type of line you can pretty much put on there what you want like brided or floro. a bunch of my surf rods (spinners) say that the limit is 20-25 limit but i have 40-50-and 60 lb braid on them and i have seen people put 30-40 lb braid on their bait casters. if you were planning on putting a braided line or a floro line on your reel, man go ahead and increase the test size. if you are using mono yea you can bump it on up to a 20-30 lb line but i wouldnt go too much farther than that and i wouldnt spool it all the way up. man i hope this helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience
